At ArcelorMittal we know that steel needs to evolve to become smarter and more sustainable. Preparation for this new long-term scenario, in which caring for the environment will be essential, has also led us to start producing Steel Powder to cover the demand for Additive Manufacturing.

Our atomizer will produce Steel Powder from steel scrap, using renewable electricity, atomizing with industrial gases produced by renewable energy and using recyclable and recycled packaging solutions.

100% renewable electricity

The casting process for the production of Steel Powder is carried out with electrical energy from 100% certified renewable sources.

Recycled source

Our Steel Powders come from recycled raw materials.

Steel is the only major material group today that can meet tomorrow's challenge of a fully circular economy due to its high recyclability.

Recycled and recyclable packaging

Our Steel Powder can be served in a 2.9 liter CurTec drum, made with recycled and recyclable materials.

CurTec uses post-industrial (such as vegetable boxes) and post-consumer (such as shampoo bottles) plastics that are mechanically recycled and offer the same benefits as virgin HDPE (high-density polyethylene).

ECO ORIGIN™ gases

The gases used for the production of Steel Powder (argon and nitrogen) have the ECO ORIGIN™ certificate, which guarantees that their production has been carried out with energy from 100% renewable sources.

ECO ORIGIN™ considers all CO2 emissions: from production to delivery to the customer, that is, the stages of distillation, liquefaction, storage, filling, transportation and delivery.
