AM Forum Berlin : Two insightful days of networking and discussions with SAM

At ArcelorMittal Powders we were thrilled to have participated in this annual event, grabbing the opportunity to showcase the importance of Steel Additive Manufacturing.

Sven Krause, interviewed our CEO, Colin Hautz, and Alexandre Tartas of HP Additive Manufacturing Solutions about our collaboration to advance Steel Additive Manufacturing with HP’s Binder Jetting technology.

We are installing a HP Metal Jet S100, and an industrial scale sintering furnace, in our R&D facility in Aviles, Spain, to offer a one-stop shop incubation hub for BJT applications in steel.

The idea is to collaborate with customers to develop the best combination of steel grade, printing parameters and sintering conditions for their application. Even going as far as pre-series printing if required. Armed with a development package, the customer should then be able to decide whether to make parts in-house or buy them from a contract manufacturer. All of which will accelerate the technical readiness of SAM solutions using Binder Jetting technology and help grow the range of addressable applications.

Colin also highlighted the levers we are using at ArcelorMittal Powders to advance SAM: Powders, Software, Parameters, and Partnerships.
